Our company allows hotel guests to donate unwanted items—like clothing, shoes, or unused amenities—before check-out. We partner with hotels in over 15 countries and were recently honored with the 2025 Travel + Leisure Global Vision Award. We have big expansion plans in the next 12 months that you will help be a part of.

Giving Bag also has a marketing arm calledImpact Hotels—a curated platform that highlights the world’s most impact driven, forward thinking brands around the world. While Giving Bag works behind the scenes with hotel operations, Impact Hotels celebrates properties doing hospitality differently: with a commitment to eco-conscious practices, local culture, and meaningful travel experiences. You will support small tasks across both Giving Bag and Impact Hotels.

We streamline:

• Guest donations
• Hotel donations
• Lost & found storage and management
• Excess inventory disposal (robes, linens, unused toiletries)

By doing so, we help hotels reduce environmental impact and create a more meaningful guest experience.

🛠️ The Role

We’re looking for an Operations Generalist to join our small, mission-driven team and work directly with the founder as an independent contractor. You’ll play a vital role in making sure Giving Bag runs efficiently as we grow—managing logistics, partner communication, and internal systems. This is a remote, independent contractor, long-term opportunity with room to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate donation pickups with partners and organizations across multiple countries
• Help lead new sales outreach strategies
• Communicate professionally with hotel teams and clients (via email and video calls)
• Track follow-ups, pickups, and status updates in shared software tools
• Manage basic internal documentation, checklists, SOP
• Draft or edit design templates, client-facing updates, and operations materials
• Help improve and document our processes to be more efficient and scalable
• Become a go-to team member who can make decisions independently over time

🧠 Who You Are

• A strong communicator in English (written and verbal)
• Detail-oriented, organized, and follow through on what you start.
• Independent / self-motivated—you enjoy problem solving and making things run better. If you don’t know how to do something, you know how to learn quickly to be a trusted member of the team.
• Ambitious and willing to come up with new ideas and solutions.
• Friendly, professional, and mission-aligned—especially if you’ve worked in hospitality, customer service, or startup environments
• Curious and tech-comfortable: you’re excited to learn, and you use AI to make work better

✅ Nice to Have (but not required)

• Experience in hotel operations, guest services, or sustainability
• Familiarity with tools like Notion, Slack, Alibaba, Stripe, or Google Workspace
• Past experience in VA, operations, logistics, or sales roles

💼 Compensation & Logistics

• Job type: Independent Contractor (Giving Bag is not able to provide benefits and all taxes are the responsibility of the contractor)
• Monthly compensation: Up to $900 USD/month + sales commission + 5% annual bonus for great performance. Final Offer Based on Experience.
